Education begins at home, but does not end there. It is important that you complete the schooling of your dog at home with a good obedience class – or more! In obedience school is so necessary? Well, here is a list of startup:

1. You and your dog will learn the more advanced commands. You have a good start with "sit" and "Let's go", but in class you will master the exercises as "low", "stay," "heel", "Stand" and "come" and – the vocabulary she needs to become a friend really quick and reliable partners.

2. Your instructor can address your specific needs. Books and videotapes are great, but they can not stay after class to discuss individual problems of your dog or strengths, they can not demonstrate new moves for you, and they can not tell if you are holding your leash funny or give your dog a command confused. There is really no substitute for one-on-one attention and advice from a good instructor.

3. You'll learn from other people and dogs in the class. His colleagues may have some ideas for you, or you can pick up tips just from watching them. And you will find that you are supportive with their problems and proud of your successes so that non-dog loving friends can not be.

4. Your dog will get used to other people and dogs. This is a problem. No amount of good garden can teach your dog to behave in the presence of other interesting people or puppies. And if your dog does is a little worried about the world in general – and many of them – the kind of obedience will give a chance to make friends and gain confidence. So even if you've been by obedience class with another dog and know the ropes, is a good idea to take your dog to a class of its own.

5. It will give you an incentive to train your dog. Let's face it, sometimes it's hard to get motivated for the day training sessions when you know that just a couple of years not have an instructor and classmates to keep you from getting lazy!

6. You will have a fantastic time. Obedience class is fun! You'll make new friends (I know several couples who met at obedience class) and get lots of exercise, and your relationship with your new dog will go to new levels. And who knows? You can just get hooked on dog training and meet a new hobby.
